Falkirk Herald 05 June 1915
Last week, when it became known that the local constable had stopped a car near The Spur Inn and turned it to Glasgow with himself onboard, the cry went out that a German spy had been captured. But it turned out a different story. The Occupant of the car was a young lady, who is charged with fraud and embezzlement, and information was sent to Cumbernauld to watch cars on their way north. The constable had not long to wait. The lady, who was on her way to Brechin (or so she said), had to turn, accompanied by the constable, who landed her in quarters contrary to her expectations. She is now in the hands of the Glasgow authorities.
